Good news worth sharing?

As part of my training for ordained ministry in the Methodist Church, I’ve been asked to create a short video reflecting on my faith journey and invite people from different backgrounds and beliefs to respond.

I have often found that people are willing to talk about faith when they are given permission to talk about belonging, identity, hope, purpose, community, or the experiences that have shaped them.

As I’ve reflected on this assignment, I’ve found myself wondering what happens when we share personal stories of faith. Can they create space for conversation across different beliefs, experiences, and backgrounds?

  • What makes a story feel authentic?
  • What makes faith seem credible?
  • Can people who hold very different beliefs still find common ground in themes such as belonging, identity, purpose, community, or hope?

As part of this project, I’m inviting a small group of people from different backgrounds to watch a short video about my faith journey and share their responses to it.

If you would be interested in taking part, I’d be grateful.

You can watch the video and respond using the short feedback form here.

Whether you identify as Christian, belong to another faith tradition, consider yourself spiritual but not religious, or have no religious faith at all, I’d be interested to hear your perspective.

There are no right or wrong answers. I’m simply interested in what the story prompts for you.

If you would like to respond, please do so by Monday 15 June 2026. Thank you!
